    • What: Skyline Grange invites you to a warm home-cooked dinner.   A good way to spend a rainy, foggy autumn Saturday evening with friends & family of the Skyline Community, and a comforting way to recover from the exhausting two years of presidential campaigning.  Delicious homemade soups, homemade breads, fresh salads, and homemade dessert will be served

  • GOV'T GIVING AWAY COUPONS FOR HDTV CONVERTER; FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE!
    • Why: Starting Feb. 17, 2009, all television broadcast will be digital and any analog T.V. will not be able to receive those signals. A converter box will be required for analog T.V.s to continue receiving "over-the-air" television signals after that date. These boxes will cost between $50 - $70 at retail stores.
    • How: You can apply for and receive up to two $40 coupons per household.
    • To get yours, go to www.mydtv2009.gov . 2 million of the 33 million available are already gone in this first week offering. Better hurry!

  • STUDDED TIRES LEGAL 11/01
    • Though studded tires are lawful between Nov 1 and Apr 1 in Oregon, road maintenance people hope that in time the newer, non-studded tires made from special rubber compounds that grip ice-covered surfaces will eliminate the use of studded tires.
    • An estimated $11 million is spent each year in Oregon in 2002 repairing studded tire damage on its streets.
    • According to Doug Tindall of ODOT, damage from studs means that a 20-year paving job lasts only 11-12 years.

    • The spring backyard burning season runs from March 1st through June 15th.

    • You can burn from 12:00pm to 6:30pm.
    • There should be a fire break and the fire should be attended at all times.
