A converter box will be required for analog T.V.s to continue receiving "over-the-air" television signals after that date. These boxes will cost between $50 - $70 at retail stores.

STUDDED TIRES LEGAL 11/01

Though studded tires are lawful between Nov 1 and Apr 1 in Oregon, road maintenance people hope that in time the newer, non-studded tires made from special rubber compounds that grip ice-covered surfaces will eliminate the use of studded tires.
An estimated $11 million is spent each year in Oregon in 2002 repairing studded tire damage on its streets.
According to Doug Tindall of ODOT, damage from studs means that a 20-year paving job lasts only 11-12 years.
