Chainsaws stolen on Pauly Road
A neighbor reports: "Hi, just read the Newsline on line. We also had a chainsaw taken from our barn/garage during the same time-frame*. And we are extremely remote, down Pauly Rd. We were very surprised, as access in and out on Pauly is pretty obvious to all on the road, whether a person is in a car or on foot. The Multnomah County police actually contacted US about the theft, as we didn't know (weren't needing any wood cut for a while, apparently). They tracked us down from a serial number on the chain saw. Police have since apprehended the people (homeless) (crank-heads) they believe to be responsible for the acts. They were caught/identified when they tried to hock the chainsaws to a pawn shop. I totally forgot about notifying the Newsline, will try to remember in the future!
PS--Love the editorial comments! "

1. Chainsaws stolen on McNamee Road
A neighbor reports:
We had two chainsaws and three gas cans stolen from our barn sometime during the week of Sept 28 to Oct 3. It'll be quieter for our neighbors for a little while (until I replace those).
2. Break in on Newberry Road; random pocket crap stolen
A neighbor reports:
when I got home this evening I was greeted with strewn clothing everywhere and a busted window. Nothing of any real value was taken, a digital camera, a couple of jewelry boxes from the top of the dresser (well the manly kind as there was no actual jewelry, just random pocket crap), and a pillowcase to carry the "loot". So call out the dogs or whatever is done in these sorts of things. Portland's finest have already been by to take a look. The deed was definitely done between 8:45 AM and 4:30 PM, but I'm thinking more like mid afternoon as the lawn guys were here this morning.

A Neighbor reports:
just want to share that a bunch of my glass, mostly floats, some plants, and buckets were taken from outside my shop,on the Pass next door to Plain view, either late last night or early this morning. nothing i can't live without but a bummer nonetheless. my shop alarm went off a few nights before. not sure if that was related but it is the first time it has been set off in a few years so keep your valuables put away as there is someone on the prowl.
A Second Neighbor reports:
Our home on NW Cornelius Pass Rd. was burglarized on evening of August 1st. Many items were taken inside and outside.
If anyone hears anything concerning this burglary please let us know at sunshine3@hughes.net .

A neighbor in the 14700 block of Newberry road writes:
"Some kind soul just plowed up about 50 feet of the drainage ditch along our property front, knocked over our number post as well as Carl Vanderzanden's, and then continued on their merry way.
It's police case # 0916656 if anyone knows anything about it, or wants to report a hideously muddy vehicle that must have really big tires."

A neighbor on Old Cornelius Pass reports:
Want to report a suspicious vehicle that I've seen for several months about once a week. It is a large light beige pick-up with canopy. License VCR 159. It parks on the edge of the road near the bridge a little below the hairpin curve. Is there once a week around 4:15 to 5pm. A white male 40-50 yrs with sunglasses is inside. He observes traffic and then leaves. Just wonder what he's up to.
